Are you passionate about supporting young people to achieve their potential? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Student Advisor & Safeguarding Officer to join our inclusive college community.
In this vital role, you’ll work across both mainstream and our specialist LIFE (Learning for Independence & Future Employment) provision, supporting students with SEN, SEMH, and EHCPs. You’ll play a key part in ensuring students’ individual needs are recognised, supported, and met — empowering them to thrive academically, emotionally, and socially.
You’ll provide early help, advice, and safeguarding support on issues such as mental health, family conflict, housing, and wellbeing — not only to students, but to families and carers too. Your work will directly contribute to preparing learners for independent living and employment.

Is this you?
- Demonstrable knowledge of the principles involved in giving advice and guidance to children/young people/adults in need, including the place of confidentiality.
- Understanding of the continuum of need for all student local authorities ensuring full awareness of thresholds of children and adult services.
- Knowledge of the responsibilities of agencies towards vulnerable people such as Children Services, 0-25 Team and Adult Care Services.
- Demonstrable knowledge of the range of additional support / agencies which can be of assistance to vulnerable students and families
- Case management responsibilities of safeguarding cases for students with EHCP’s, SEMH and SEN.
