Oaklands College is seeking a Development Rugby Coach to support the delivery of our successful rugby programme. This is an exciting opportunity to combine hands-on coaching with player education and mentoring, ensuring that our Development XV squad thrives both on and off the field.
As part of the Oaklands Wolves Rugby Academy, you’ll play a vital role in shaping the future of aspiring athletes, delivering top-class training, supporting player progression, and preparing teams for competitive fixtures.

Your Day-to-Day Impact
High-Quality Coaching – Plan and deliver engaging training sessions, focusing on both team preparation and individual player development.
Player Progression – Provide tailored feedback and mentoring, using video analysis and technology to support growth on and off the pitch.
Collaboration – Work closely with the Head of Rugby, Lead Coach, and ACE Squad staff to align delivery, support player selection, and ensure smooth programme integration.
Fixture Preparation – Coordinate team selection, manage equipment and kit, and ensure all safety measures are in place for matches.
Player Welfare & Education – Support players with education around nutrition, psychology, technical and tactical understanding, and life skills such as CV writing and career planning.
Programme Development – Contribute to recruitment activities, trials, open events, and innovative projects that strengthen and grow the rugby programme.
Is This You?
We’re looking for an enthusiastic and committed coach with the drive to inspire players and make a lasting impact.
You’ll bring:
RFU Level 2 (minimum) or equivalent coaching qualification
Experience coaching junior rugby players
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Ability to motivate and retain players through engaging coaching methods
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Ideally, you’ll also have:
Experience coaching in a college, academy, or comparable environment
Proven ability to manage fixtures and training resources
Knowledge of safeguarding, equality, and health & safety in sport
And personally, you’re:
Passionate about rugby and player development
Approachable, professional, and solution-focused
A positive role model with resilience and integrity
