Oaklands College is looking for a Management Accountant to join our Finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a central role in ensuring financial transparency, accuracy, and compliance — helping us deliver outstanding education while maintaining strong financial discipline.
As a key member of the Finance Department, you’ll support the Financial Controller and Deputy Finance Director in preparing management accounts, maintaining financial systems, and providing insightful reporting that shapes decision-making across the College and its subsidiaries.

Your Day-to-Day Impact
No two days will be the same — but you can expect to:
Prepare monthly management accounts for the College, subsidiaries, and joint ventures.
Reconcile key control accounts, credit card accounts, and balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Maintain and update the Fixed Asset register, including monthly depreciation.
Prepare quarterly VAT returns and other statutory tax submissions within deadlines.
Support budget holders with financial guidance, helping them understand and manage their budgets effectively.
Contribute to financial reports and analysis that inform decision-making at senior level.
Support the bursary payment process and oversee supplier and staff setup on the finance system.
Provide advice and cover for Finance Assistants, supporting teamwork and continuity during peak periods.
Deputise for the Financial Controller when required.
Is This You?
We’re looking for someone who is analytical, detail-focused, and passionate about using their financial expertise to make a difference.
You’ll bring:
A recognised professional accountancy qualification.
At least 2 years’ relevant post-qualification experience.
Strong knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain financial matters clearly.
A proactive, solutions-focused mindset, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
And personally, you’re:
Organised, accurate, and detail-driven.
Calm under pressure with a problem-solving approach.
Confident working with people at all levels across the organisation.
