In this hands-on position, you will manage and maintain specialist classrooms and resources, prepare teaching materials, and provide invaluable in-class support to lecturers. From setting up equipment to supervising students in practical workshops, your contribution will help foster a positive and safe educational experience.
You’ll also take charge of ordering supplies, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. With opportunities to demonstrate specialist equipment, assess students practically, and even assist with the installation and upkeep of Apple Mac products in partnership with IT, your role will be varied and rewarding.

Your Day to day.
- Maintain, order and replenish supplies for the work area.
- Set up, repair and monitor location of all equipment and manage specialist rooms and classrooms assigned to area.
- Prepare resources for teaching purposes.
- In the absence of teaching staff, help to supervise student classes.
- provide in classroom support to lecturers.
- Ensure students are complying with health and safety and notify teacher where concerns arise.
- Monitor safety of students in practical workshop environment
- Cleaning and tidying away of resources.
- Accompanying students and teachers on external visits
- Carry out routine and non-routine maintenance activities associated with the work area.
- Carry out other duties as required by the specific curriculum area
- Comply with all codes of good practice associated with the work area (for example Animal Welfare, Safeguarding, financial regulations etc)
- Demonstrate specialist equipment to students.
- Carry out health and safety risk assessments.
Is this you?
- Ideally experience within technical theatre as well as music technology essential.
- PASMA trained essential.
- Ability to solder, essential.
- Proficient in Logic, Pro Tools & Q-Lab essential.
- Good communicator organised and proactive desirable.
- Teaching qualification desirable
