An exciting opportunity has arisen at Oaklands for a Creative Writing Skills Lecturer to deliver short Creative Writing courses for Beginners and Improvers.

The College is developing in a transformational way, and we are seeking a Creative Writing Skills Lecturer to play a vital role in our Journey.
We are looking for an experienced lecturer to join our team and play a crucial role in expanding our evening adult provision, and offering Creative Writing courses. In this position, you will deliver short 6-8 week adult evening courses focusing on six main areas of fiction writing, advise students how to approach a publisher or to self-publish. You will also be responsible for preparing teaching materials and marking students’ work
The ideal candidate will have experience in delivering Creative Writing courses to adults, strong organisational skills, hold specialist qualifications or professional training. You should be proficient in Microsoft Office and capable of managing multiple priorities effectively.
Your Day to Day Impact
- To Deliver Creative Writing Courses, to adult students
- Beginners level and Improvers
- Carry out all associated course administration
- Prepare teaching materials and scheme of work
- Mark students work
- Be responsible for learner progress
- Comply with Quality standards
- Complete learner registers accurately and on time

- Ability to work well with students of all backgrounds
- A flexible and solution-focused approach to work
- Effective organisational skills (self and workload)
- In addition to teaching ability, effective verbal and written communication skills
- Experience of working with people in a learning environment
- Holds a specialist qualifications or professional training qualifications or 2 years relevant experience in the subject specialism.
