We are looking for an enthusiastic, forward-thinking Curriculum Team Leader for Motor Vehicle and Electrical who is passionate about inspiring staff, developing the next generation of engineers, and driving high-quality, innovative curriculum delivery across two dynamic curriculum areas.

Your Purpose in the Role
You will lead the Motor Vehicle and Electrical curriculum areas to deliver consistently high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment, ensuring students achieve outstanding outcomes and progress to employment or further study.
Working closely with the Head of Department, you will champion continuous improvement, support staff through effective leadership, and embed innovative curriculum approaches—including collaboration with the Skills Network—to enhance learner experience and streamline processes. You will also take a leading role in IQA processes, ensuring rigor, compliance, and excellence across both curriculum areas.
Your Day-to-Day Impact
- Provide effective leadership to curriculum teams, ensuring consistently high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment across Motor Vehicle and Electrical programmes.
- Drive quality improvement by monitoring learner progress, leading robust IQA processes, and ensuring recruitment, retention, and achievement targets are met.
- Support staff development through mentoring, constructive lesson observations, and performance management to promote a culture of high expectations.
- Lead curriculum planning and innovation, embedding digital tools and AI-driven approaches to enhance delivery and reduce administrative workload.
- Oversee key operational activities including timetabling, enrolment, accurate MIS data, awarding body compliance, and day-to-day departmental coordination.

Qualifications
- Level 3 (or higher) qualification in Motor Vehicle and/or Electrical Installations (essential).
- Recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, CertEd, DTLLS, or willingness to work towards) (essential/desirable).
- Assessor qualification (A1/TAQA) and/or Internal Verifier qualification (V1/IQA) (desirable).
- English & Maths at Level 2 or equivalent (essential).
- Up-to-date CPD and industry training relevant to Motor Vehicle/Electrical (desirable).
Experience
- Proven industry experience in Motor Vehicle and/or Electrical disciplines (essential).
- Experience teaching, training, or mentoring in FE, apprenticeships, or workplace settings (desirable).
- Experience with assessment, internal verification, or awarding body processes (desirable).
- Experience managing quality, curriculum development, or course leadership (desirable).
Skills & Competencies
- Strong technical expertise across Motor Vehicle and/or Electrical specialisms.
- Ability to lead curriculum planning, delivery, and quality assurance.
- Strong communication, organisational, and digital skills.
- Ability to inspire, support, and challenge staff and learners.
- Competence with IT systems, including ProSuite and digital learning tools.
