Your Day-to-Day Impact
Teaching & Learning
Plan and deliver engaging theory and practical sessions for Levels 1–3, using your patience and clarity to bring technical concepts to life.
Teach core topics such as Health & Safety, electrical science, installation practices, fault finding and inspection & testing—perfect for someone who is technically confident and safety‑focused.
Prepare learners for assessments and provide constructive, timely feedback that supports their growth.
Use digital platforms to track progress and keep learning organised and accessible.
Adapt your teaching to meet the needs of all learners, using your supportive nature to help everyone achieve their best.
Maintain accurate records and progress reviews—ideal for someone who values structure and organisation.
Quality, Compliance & Awarding Body Standards
Deliver lessons that follow City & Guilds specifications and internal policies.
Contribute to IQA processes and implement feedback—great for someone who takes pride in doing things properly.
Support EQA visits and ensure learner work meets required standards.
Contribute to curriculum planning and continuous improvement.
Help the team meet KPIs such as attendance, retention and achievement.
Workshop & Health & Safety
Maintain a safe, industry‑standard workshop—perfect for someone who is naturally safety‑minded.
Complete risk assessments, deliver inductions and enforce PPE/LOTO procedures.
Ensure tools and test equipment are safe, calibrated and ready for use.
Embed safe systems of work in all practical sessions.
Pastoral, Safeguarding & Wider Responsibilities
Promote Safeguarding, Prevent, British Values, EDI and sustainability.
Reinforce Maths & English in vocational contexts.
Provide supportive tutorials and progress reviews, helping learners stay motivated and on track.
Work with employers to support apprentices’ workplace development.
Professionalism & Team Contribution
Take part in team meetings, CPD and curriculum development.
Keep your technical knowledge current with BS 7671 updates and emerging technologies.
Support open events, taster days and employer engagement activities.
Essential for the Role
Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installation (or equivalent)
A recognised teaching qualification
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly and calmly
A commitment to maintaining high standards of safety, professionalism and learner support
