This role covers approximately one weekend in four (37-week academic year), from 5pm Friday to 8am Monday. Shifts are worked in pairs, with staggered starts, planned breaks, and time out of the building included. The schedule runs Friday evening through to Sunday midnight, with overnight sleep-ins. Any disturbed night hours are paid at the standard hourly rate.

Your Day-to-Day Impact
No two days will be the same — but your key responsibilities will include:
· To provide support and cover for the Residential Officers including shopping and enrichment activities as required
· To monitor and personally check all students in accommodation at curfew times and other times as instructed.
· To record and report all incidents via the College online systems.
· To support students to develop and live together whilst abiding by Oaklands College rules and helping to develop a safe community.
· To contribute to and deliver an agreed enrichment programme during evening and weekends.
· To attend required staff training and development opportunities
· To support the students in the development of their appropriate and respectful behaviours
· To take part in any emergency that may require evacuation of students to provide support to Residential Officers during on-call hours.
We’re looking for someone who enjoys variety, thrives in a busy environment, and has a genuine commitment to supporting students and colleagues.
Is this you?
· Substantial experience of providing enrichment activities working with a diverse range of young people particularly those in the 16-19 age range
· An active interest in sporting or enrichment activities
· Experience of delivering workshops and organising activities
· Ability to drive a minibus (after training)
· Organised approach to work, able to work on own initiative and to administer own workload.
· Completed in house training relevant to the role.
· Ability to evaluate and reflect on own performance.
· Ability to form balanced judgements about student problems and support needs.
· High level of personal integrity and confidentiality
· Ability to work flexibly to meet the needs of the business.
· Ability to stay calm under pressure.
· Ability to work in a professional, impartial, and non-judgemental way.
· Excellent customer service skills and a genuine interest in working with and helping customers.
· An awareness of cultural diversity
