Residential Supervisor
Lead our residential provision, managing staff, ensuring care standards, and empowering students to thrive, grow in independence, and fully engage in College life through safe, high‑quality support.
You will be responsible for leading the College’s residential provision, managing and developing the residential team to ensure full compliance with National Care Standards and the College’s duty of care. This includes overseeing the operational running of all student accommodation and supporting students to develop independence, confidence, and the skills needed to become enriched, capable young adults.
KEY RESPONSIBILITES
· Provide line management to the team to ensure individuals are supported and developed to perform an excellent service
· Develop termly staffing rotas in conjunction with the residential team
· Carry out motivational appraisals to improve performance and deal with daily management of staff including organising holiday and sickness cover rotas
Liaise with parents/carers as required to promote communication and knowledge about the student experience
Promote the residential provision internally and externally
Be the voice of residential students throughout College ensuring that their requirements are heard and acted upon
Promote residential students’ positive conduct through the student behaviour management protocol
Organise termly student forums and wing meetings to capture student feedback and action where appropriate
Develop integration strategies for students to integrate fully into College life on campus
Take responsibility for supporting the SAR and QIP process and prepare for any Ofsted Inspections as required
Implement the KPIs that monitor and measure the effectiveness of the service and the impact that it has on students. Provide quantitative and qualitative information in line with the national Care standards
Ensure the entire service delivery meets all health and safety and legislative requirements
Support the management the residential budget as the cost centre raiser
Review all the documentation associated with residential provision on an annual basis
Develop and implement working protocols, taking into account increasing numbers, crisis planning etc
Contribute to the developing residential provision through the planning process and identifying resource requirements
· Ensure all student records are kept up to date
· Support the team to ensure there is a full and appropriate enrichment programme to engage students and support their transition to independent living
Create, develop and maintain partnerships both internally and externally to ensure Oaklands residential students have a good access to services and activities to support their success at the College
Oversee engagement of students as they undertake the transition to independent living
Develop a communication network between the curriculum areas and the sports academies to ensure concerns about any residential students are followed up
Liaise with the College’s safeguarding team and ensure team support for safeguarding situations
Signpost students to other services as required to support their progress, retention and success at college
Co-ordinate all aspects of the maintenance of the residential properties to ensure they adhere with national Care Standards
· Plan, implement and manage the residential students enrolment process ensuring it is comprehensive and inter-departmental
· Support recruitment events to provide potential students and their parents/ carers with information on residential services
Be aware of and follow College policies and procedures, with particular attention to health and safety, safeguarding, risk management, equality and diversity, quality and our values and behaviours. You will be required to attend training and CPD events as necessary

Please note:
37 hours per week, term-time only plus 6 weeks (total 42 weeks) including on call rota as required
This post requires flexibility of hours i.e. some full days and some part days/evening and overnights. Some weekend work is required, an average of one day per month. The post also involves being on-call for emergencies when not on site.
