Your Day-to-Day Impact
As a Lecturer in Electrical Engineering, you will deliver engaging, high-quality teaching across a range of engineering programmes, including full-time courses, apprenticeships, HNC/D programmes, and T Levels. You will inspire learners through your industry knowledge and technical expertise, helping them develop the skills required for successful careers within the engineering sector.
A key part of your role will involve teaching specialist areas such as:
Electrical and Electronic Principles
Micro-Controllers and Process Control
Electronic Measurement and Testing
Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)
You'll be responsible for planning and delivering lessons, preparing teaching resources, and producing schemes of work that create a stimulating and supportive learning environment. You will monitor learner progress, provide constructive feedback, assess work accurately, and help students achieve their full potential.
Working closely with colleagues across the Engineering Department, you will contribute to curriculum development, quality improvement activities, internal verification processes, and departmental meetings. You will also act as a personal tutor, providing pastoral support and guidance while helping learners access additional support services where required.
You will maintain accurate learner records, attendance data, and achievement information, ensuring all college quality standards, safeguarding requirements, and health and safety procedures are consistently met.

Qualifications & Industry Knowledge
Minimum Level 5 subject specialist qualification, or a higher qualification where required.
Relevant industry experience within Electrical Engineering.
Strong technical knowledge of:
Electrical and Electronic Principles
Micro-Controllers
Electronic Measurement and Testing
Process Control Systems
Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)
Teaching & Learning
Qualified teacher, or industry professional aspiring to enter Further Education.
Level 3 Award in Education and Training (or willingness to achieve).
Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training (or equivalent), or willingness to work towards it.
Experience delivering teaching and learning to a range of learners and levels is desirable. [JD
